This is part of the heritage that my forester father has given me. We weren't just tree huggers, we were earth huggers.

The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for He founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters. -Psalm 24:1-2

Happy Earth Day.

  1. This picture brought tears to my eyes. I love the memory and the silliness to think you can hug the earth. Ha! only 25,000 more miles of arms are needed. But a good start with our family. Maybe in 2000 generations we will have enough kin to do it. Glad you inherited the love of nature and are passing that on to your kids. When I was out in the woods around our house pruning a limb or doing some other task that would not be known by any other person, I would spy you walking by yourself in the woods, talking and discovering the smallest things of nature, that you would proudly bring to show me. One time I made bird calls that caused you to freeze till you found the old crow. Love, Dad
