I am celebrating life today.

After roughly 24 hours of the stomach virus (not to mention the previous 24 hours when the kids were suffering through it), feeling normal is amazing. Without sharing too many of the gruesome details, I will just say it feels good to not be permanently attached to a spittoon. And to be able to walk across a room and feel healthy.

It feels so good to be able to take are of my family again.

Today is like a new beginning. Everybody has been scrubbed clean in the bathtub. All the bedding has been washed. All of the windows are open to let in the bird songs and wafts of lilac.

New life.

The closer we get to Easter, the more I think about how everything reflects the theme of death and resurrection. Even the stomach flu.

And now, just to make sure we end this rather grisly post on a positive note, here is a picture to inspire you to get outside and enjoy health, springtime, and running barefoot in the grass.

  1. welcome back to the land of the living, my friend! So glad to hear you're feeling better :)
thanks for reminding me that Life is a gift & we have such a great Maker that he creates new life in us everyday as we trust in his Son! better than Advil :)
