Fall has always been one of my favorite seasons. And not just because my birthday is in October and I equate the changing colors, falling leaves and cool crisp days with getting lots of presents. And lots of pumpkin pie. Mmmm. Although Portland tends to go with the rainy cool days with only splotches of bright trees mixed in with the evergreens (not quite the same as Missouri...and definitely not quite the same as New England), I'm getting into the spirit of things with some decorative gourds and pumpkin spice candles.

Just waiting on the new little munchkin to make his or her arrival into the world. Any day now...for the next three weeks of course. I am however hoping to be over this cold before the big day. So while I'm waiting I'm getting a jump start on the upcoming season of Advent. Here are the beginnings of our new advent calendar that I will string up in the dining room this year.

  1. Elissa, ooooh! The big day is coming! Hope it is sooner rather than later. And those booties are adorable! Did you knit them or what? (I am not a knitter)
